Final

Burmese stuffed soy tofu is a popular street food that you can find on the corners of the streets all around Burma. It is fresh, spicy/sour/salty and it is available to vegetarians. And since it is popular street food, the food is very affordable. It is part of the street food called ‘Burmese skewers platter’, which includes fried chickpea tofu, fake meatballs, potatoes, lady finger, soybean blood cake, cucumber, and fish cakes in skewers.

Burmese stuffed soy tofu is the only snack that is not on a stick but on the same platter with all these skewers. In my childhood, the street sellers will be selling these snacks around our schools with carts and lots of kids were chasing these carts to get their favorite snacks. These carts were our ice cream trucks. Burmese stuffed soy tofu is very easy to make, healthy, low cost and very fulfilling. Just one bite and you can taste all the spicy, sour and salty flavors at once.
